Welcome to the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve's nature workshops webpage! Our mission is to connect the community with the beauty and wonder of nature through informative and engaging programming led by our expert environmental educators. Our team of professionals have backgrounds in biology and conservation sciences, and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience with visitors of all ages.

Our Nature Reserve boasts stunning natural spaces that are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. We are committed to protecting these precious habitats, and we offer a variety of both paid and FREE workshops and programs throughout the year to educate and inspire our community to join us in our mission. The Joy of Gardening for Nature - Sunday, May 26th from 9:30 - 11:30 am

Join us on Sunday, May 26th from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the GHBNR for a special event with Deb Ego, former Naturescape Ambassador, and learn how to help nature thrive right in your own yard! Discover native plants that support butterflies, bees, birds, and other local animals. Find out about the best plant choices for your garden's light and soil conditions, and which plants will attract specific species of creatures. This class is perfect for anyone interested in gardening and creating an inviting environment for nature.

Don't miss this opportunity to make a difference in your yard and for local wildlife! Registration is $20.00 and is available through the link below or in-person at the Interpretive Centre (staffed daily from 10-4).

Registration is completed through our booking platform, Peek - taxes and 6% booking fee apply. All program fees support our non-profit organization’s conservation and education work at the GBHNR!
