Seasonal Camps

The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve offers full-day and half-day camps throughout spring and summer! These camps are one week long and are the perfect immersive experience for children to explore nature or their creative side. Camps are comprised of art or nature programming, often a mixture of both!

Keep an eye out on this page for upcoming opportunities!

Registration for 2024 Summer Camps is now OPEN!

It's almost that time of year again! Join us at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve for an exciting mix of visual arts and outdoor activities in our Summer Camps!

Our experienced instructors have a variety of programming prepared to offer children a unique opportunity to connect with the outdoors and engage with their creative sides!

Campers in the nature programs will spend their sessions outside guided by our experienced and knowledgeable environmental educators, connecting to the unique wildlife habitats of the reserve and exploring pond life, wetland, and forest ecosystems. Our art teacher John LeFlock will guide the campers through a variety of creative activities in an exploration of artistic techniques - working with multiple mediums to showcase the importance of art, especially when connecting with nature.

Our camp programs are suitable for ages 5 to 12 (4-year-old campers may attend with an older sibling).

Register for one of our half-day programs (available in either art, nature, or a combination of both) or for one of our full-day sessions for a more immersive experience!

Booking is available through our online platform, Peek or in-person at our Interpretive Centre, staffed daily from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Follow the “Book Now” button below each camp's description and navigate to the first day of the camp you wish to attend! Selecting and booking this date will register you for the full week! Attend more than one camp in the same calendar year to get 10% off!

Pricing varies by camp depending on each camp's length and materials required. See below for more details!

The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve is a non-profit, charitable organization and all program fees go directly to supporting our conservation & education programs!
