Homeschool Programs

Overview: Homeschool Programs

  • The next session of Homeschool Classes runs 9 weeks from May 5th - June 30th and will meet every Friday from 1:30-4:30 PM. 
  • Program fee for this 9-week session is $360.00.
  • Homeschool programs offer the opportunity for students to experience learning in a group setting, engaging with both nature and visual arts
  • Nature education programs are taught by an experienced environmental educator, and art class is taught by an engaging local artist
  • Classes run for 3 hours, divided evenly between two subjects, with time for a 15-min snack break 
  • Each week offers new opportunities to explore the Nature Reserve and engage in outdoor learning, with activities promoting teamwork and creativity
  • Students are supervised at all times by educators and volunteers 
  • Homeschool sessions run 3 - 4 times per year

Program Fees

  • Booking fees for Spring Homeschool Sessions are as follows: $360.00 / per child, per 9-week session

Notes for Parents:

  • Please plan to arrive 10 minutes before your program start time
  • Walk your class to the Discovery Annex Classrooms or Outdoor Amphitheatre as directed in the confirmation email
  • Discovery Annex Classrooms are a 3-minute walk west of the lower roundabout & bus parking
  • Programs run rain or shine so please have students be prepared to be outside! Proper outerwear and footwear is a must!
  • Cancellations are subject to a $50 cancellation fee if less than 3 days' notice unless exceptional circumstances
  • Lunches must be pack-in / pack-out as we have limited waste disposal
  • Most trails and all facilities are wheelchair-accessible

Parking:

  • Bus drop off is in the lower roundabout, enter from Sumas Prairie Road, go up and over the dyke, and down into the parking loop
  • Additional car parking is to the left, below the dyke, outside the gates
  • Parking for the disabled is inside the gates, on top of the dyke, near the Rotary Interpretive Centre, or in the lower roundabout
  • If your group is arriving via. parent drivers, please notify us so we can do our best to ensure sufficient parking is available.
