Become a Volunteer at GBHNRS and help run our Interpretive Centre!

In recent years, the Rotary Interpretive Centre had close to 30,000 visitors per year. The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve is growing and we're looking for front-desk volunteers for our Interpretive Center. The Center is open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and there are two volunteer hosting shifts per day (morning and afternoon) which volunteers can choose from.

Volunteer responsibilities usually include hosting at the gorgeous Rotary Interpretive Centre, but may also provide opportunities for:

  • Gardening in our native plant gardens
  • Conducting bird and heron surveys
  • Preparing for and helping at special events
  • Working in the office or on committees
  • Helping with our education programs

No prior experience is needed to become involved in this opportunity. If you have 1-2 mornings or afternoons available per week and are passionate about connecting with your community and supporting the conservation of our local natural resources, then this role is for you!

Fill out the form below to apply  - be sure to include any questions you may have and you'll hear back from our Exectuive Director, Camille!
