GREAT BLUE HERON
NATURE RESERVE
Experience Nature
The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve Society manages the 325 acre wetlands located on the un-dyked floodplain of the Vedder River. The reserve is know for the large breeding colony of the PACIFIC GREAT BLUE HERON nesting from March to July. Come visit the Reserve and experience the FIVE SCENIC TRAILS, including boardwalks, benches, lookout tower, scenic footbridge and viewing blinds and lookout points.

To educate and inspire people of all ages to understand, protect and preserve the wetland environment and its wildlife through fun, engaging and interactive environmental awareness programs. We offer school programs, preschool programs, home school programs and group programs and activities. Each program lasts 1 hour and Environmental Programs are delivered by our knowledgeable Environmental Educators and our Wildlife Art Classes are delivered by an engaging local artist
