School Programs
Restore the Wetlands
Cost $150 per group
Please book well ahead so we can order the plants!
Our trained staff will demonstrate to your students the importance
of wetlands and the plants that grow. Students will learn about
trees and then help restore part of the Heron Reserve by planting shrubs
and trees. Not only will students be learning about trees and
other plants but actively experience volunteering for an
environmental project and feel proud to help to provide valuable
habitat for endangered wetland species.
We provide gloves and all tools. The students provide the
enthusiasm and elbow grease!
Total program length: 2 hours
The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve is only 45 minutes from
Guildford. Our Rotary Interpretive Centre has interesting displays, a
large multipurpose room (and washrooms). You are welcome to bring a
picnic and enjoy the Reserve at your leisure.
Just call (604) 823-6603 or email
herons@shawbiz.ca to book your group for this program.
